Current Ministry: working with former Boy Soldiers, HIV/AIDS afflicted, and prisoners.
Bob’s love for missions has its origins in Haiti. His first short-term mission trip there in January, 2000 ignited a passion and desire to serve Christ overseas as a full-time missionary specializing in practical ministries aimed at reaching the poor. Subsequent trips to Haiti and other countries had a significant impact on his perspective of missions in that, God our Savior desires, ".....all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
In recognizing God's call to become involved in the lives of strangers and sharing His love with them, Bob has ministered to the homeless in the inner cities of Florida, Michigan, Connecticut and Missouri, assisting in their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Street ministry proves to be challenging and often unpredictable but speaking the name of Jesus into the lives of those desperate for hope can also be very powerful.
Bob joined the ACTION Gulu Men’s Ministry team in May, 2008 to share the Gospel and love of Christ to the HIV/AIDS afflicted, prisoners, and those referred to as former Boy Soldiers—men who were abducted as children and forced to commit atrocities by the notorious rebel insurgency group known as Lord’s Resistance Army.
After eight months in Northern Uganda, Bob returned to the U.S. and was married in January, 2009. During the past year, he and wife Mary have been preparing themselves in specific areas of study and cross-cultural training and will be evaluated in April, 2010 to determine their status as ACTION career missionaries.
