Ana and Mazinho are a married couple who have been adopting orphans and abandoned children for over 21 years.  They adopt large sibling groups and children with developmental disabilities.

They believe that God has called them to create a place for those who don't have anything, specifically children who are lonely or who have been abandoned. They started adopting in 1988 and now, 21 years later, the family has expanded!  Today, Ana and Mazinho have 37 children and 7 grandchildren.  Four of the children are married, three are living outside of the house and 30 live in their home in Atibaia – a small city in the state of São Paulo. 

They have adopted some of the children as babies and toddlers, but most have come to them in their pre-teen adolescent years.  Because they have either been orphaned or abandoned, all of these children arrive with significant challenges. 

Ana and Mazinho's ongoing prayer request is that God would build their house (Psalm 127:1) so that all of the children would know that their every need is truly met by God – and that only God can do this. (Isaiah 26:12). 

Their hearts long to continue rescuing and supporting these children, walk with them as they walk with Christ and teach them the teachings of Christ. The local court representing minors, specifically infants and juveniles has contacted them about adopting more children.  Ana and Mazinho would really like to be able to adopt these children. Because of their ministry, they continue to see the love of God the Father meet children who have been urged to leave their original families or abandoned in a spectacular way. They see how God sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6) and in their case, it’s a family that honors God.

God has filled their hearts with his love. And by the grace of Jesus they claim to continue to serve Him by taking care of His children. They pray that the God of Mercy, as a part of the church of Christ, would work all things together to be a light and new life for the destitute.
