UgandaThe vision of ACTION Uganda is to reach Africans through ministry to street children, prisoners, orphans, and those afflicted with AIDS. ACTION missionaries in Uganda are preaching the gospel, caring for physical needs, training national church leaders, planting churches and developing care facilities for the poor. In order to reach people in Uganda more effectively, ACTION Uganda networks with Sports Ministry Outreach-Uganda Division, ARMREF Africa, Noah’s Ark, Charity for Peace Foundation, SOS Orphanage, Save The Children Denmark, and the Social & Welfare Dept. of Uganda. Jerry Bingham is the Team Leader of Uganda and also the Grassroots Leadership Training Director. His wife, Candis, is the Children in Crisis Director in Uganda. The Binghams merged Grassroots Leadership Training, a program that trains pastors and Christian leaders how to train other leaders to impact others, with ACTION's Leadership & Pastoral Development ministry in 2000 and were ACTION's first missionaries to Uganda, Africa. They resettled in July 2003 from Kampala to Gulu, Northern Uganda, called the 'war zone'. Here they work with war-torn, traumatized people, especially children, as well as ministering to pastors in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan with Grassroots Leadership Training. They also do training to meet the plight of AIDS/HIV victims. Jim & Kappy Robinette train church leaders at All Nations Bible College and Seminary, which is located near Entebbe, Uganda. The students come from surrounding East African countries and are encouraged to serve as missionaries, pastors, and church planters in their respective areas. Jim also leads seminars and other meetings to encourage pastors and leaders. Individual sponsorship is a unique way of connecting children with others that genuinely care. In a small orphan ministry - ACTION Gulu Home of Love - this is truly the case. Sponsorship gives families opportunities to open their children’s eyes and hearts to needs around the world. It is possible to give for the Home of Love orphans in different amounts. Administrative assistants, orphan home developers, and street children workers are all needed in Uganda. Another ministry at the Village of Hope facility is Jesus, The Good Shepherd Nursery and Primary School, where 150 primary students and 115 nursery students are educated, both academically, emotionally and spiritually with much love and patience.
